Falconer Tartan

Falconer Tartan

For centuries, tartan has been part of the everyday get up for the highlander. Although tartan is worn all over Scotland, it's development continued in the highlands and became synonymous with their clans. Tartan began as a check design of perhaps two or three coloured threads and clan members could soon become identified by the woven garments they wore. Almost acting as a uniform representing their clan.

 Black Watch Tartan

Consisting of blue, green and black, the Falconer Tartan is a staple amongst VuV.  It was often worn by the Falconer Clan that were known as bird trainers and runs along side the clans motto; "Vive Ut Vivas". It's a very close take on the better known Black Watch tartan which was (and still is) used in several military units in the British Army and other Commonwealth Forces.
